More safety with GOLDfren braided steel brake hoses - brake system bleeding
Brake System BleedingNo air bubbles must be present in the brake system. Of course, air is able of penetrating into the brake system during the brake fluid exchange or spontaneously after a certain time of its use in the brake system. This results in a deterioration of the braking effect discernible by a “rubbery” response of the brake lever to its depression getting hard after repeated pushing.
For bleeding of brake hoses, unscrew the upper cover, apply a hose connected to a squirt or a vacuum bleeder onto the bleeding screw loosening the latter at the same time. This causes a pressure drop in the system; re-tighten the bleeding screw having sucked off all air. The bleeding screw is terminated by a cone and, therefore, need not be tightened by an excessively high torque thus preventing possible brake valve bursting. If necessary, this procedure using the squirt or the vacuum bleeder should be repeated checking at the same time the brake fluid level in the storage vessel and avoiding air sucking. The brake vessel must always be re-filled up to the maximum level marker.
